Description

As a project manager, determining the right approach to take is critical to a successful project. This online self-paced course presents the predictive, adaptive and hybrid approaches to project development and their intended outcomes. Participants will review project variables and organizational considerations when selecting a development approach, and their interactions with the life cycle performance domain.

Topics include:

  • reviewing various project development approaches
  • identifying best practices for aligning project cadence, approach, and life cycles
  • recognizing the interactions between the development approach and life cycle performance
  • acknowledging result-based considerations when determining a project approach

Notes:

This course is intended for all public servants, including those with or without project management experience. Materials are aligned with the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition.

Completion of the 26 courses in the CAPM® course series can count towards the eligibility requirements for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam administered for a fee by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

The CAPM® exam is not administered by the Canada School of Public Service. Learners wishing to take the exam are responsible for validating their eligibility directly with PMI.
