Description
As a project manager, effective planning is the first step towards ensuring a successful project outcome. This online self-paced course examines the key variables that influence project planning, including project estimates, schedules, budgets and resources. Participants will also explore communications, metrics, change and alignment planning considerations.
Topics include:
- identifying the desired outcomes of the planning performance domain
- recognizing variables that can influence project planning
- exploring best practices for planning a project team structure
- highlighting key considerations when planning for change
- planning project alignment and interactions throughout the project
Notes:
This course is intended for all public servants, including those with or without project management experience. Materials are aligned with the PMBOK® Guide – Seventh Edition.
Completion of the 26 courses in the CAPM® course series can count towards the eligibility requirements for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) exam administered for a fee by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
The CAPM® exam is not administered by the Canada School of Public Service. Learners wishing to take the exam are responsible for validating their eligibility directly with PMI.
