To fully participate in the School's virtual courses, you must have a camera and a microphone.

A peer coaching conversation can be a powerful process for facilitating collaboration among colleagues. This course reviews the fundamental principles of coaching and presents the steps required to lead peer coaching conversations in a group setting. Participants will develop their questioning skills, learn how to select and share a coaching topic and apply the GROW Model to a peer coaching conversation.

Topics include:

  • reviewing the foundational elements of an empowered coaching relationship
  • selecting and sharing a coaching topic effectively
  • developing the skills for observing, listening and asking powerful questions
  • applying the GROW Model to peer coaching conversations

Notes:

Coaching for Effective Leadership (TRN402) is a prerequisite for this course. It is also recommended that learners take Developing Successful Coaching Relationships (TRN439) (a one-hour online self-paced course) prior to starting TRN401.

This course builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in Coaching for Effective Leadership (TRN402) and is uniquely focused on applying a coaching approach to a peer coaching conversation in a group setting, rather than one on one.

This course requires one hour of pre-course preparatory work.
