Description

An effective policy system depends on robust policy capability. Governments around the world are facing common policy capacity challenges, including inadequate advice, shortages of well-trained advisors, and a focus on short-term demands to the detriment of longer-term policy needs. Concerns also persist about the ability of public services to support policy processes through their analysis, advisory, and service delivery functions.

This event will explore the leading approaches to implementing policy renewal processes and the critical success factors for ensuring effective and sustainable policy capacity and modernization.

Participants will gain insights from international experts on key trends and future directions in policy practice in Australia, Britain, Canada and New Zealand.
