Description
Understanding the Government of Canada's expenditure management cycle is essential to effectively navigate the resource allocation process and provide advice to senior leaders. Yet, its many complexities continue to present challenges to even the most seasoned experts.
This first event in the series will examine the foundational components of the federal expenditure management cycle, including the estimates process, Treasury Board submissions, and Memoranda to Cabinet. While providing practical guidance on the roles and responsibilities of financial management professionals, the event will demonstrate how collaboration between departments, central agencies, and Parliament ultimately leads to effective expenditure management.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the expenditure management processes, their implications on financial decision-making, and practical strategies that support transparency, compliance, and sound financial management within their organizations.
