Description

The widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) tools brings significant opportunities for efficiency and innovation yet also raises immediate concerns related to bias, transparency, accountability, and finding a careful balance between technological progress and the protection of societal values.

This timely event features Abdi Aidid, Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law and co-author of The Legal Singularity: How Artificial Intelligence Can Make Law Radically Better, who will provide an overview of the current landscape of AI regulation in Canada and globally. The event will highlight key developments, emerging trends, and the diverse governmental approaches to balancing innovation with accountability.

Participants will gain practical insights into how Canada can implement effective safety measures for AI, including strategies to protect rights, foster innovation responsibly, and build public trust, while also exploring the broader social and institutional impacts of generative AI.
