Description

According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, one in five people in Canada will experience a mental health challenge or illness in any given year. A significant amount of time in a day is spent working, which is why psychologically healthy and safe workplaces play such an essential part in maintaining positive mental health.

In recognition of Canada’s Healthy Workplace Month 2023, this event will focus on psychological health and safety in the workplace, featuring a panel discussion about workplace hazards such as excessive workload and what a decline in mental health can look like, as well as helpful tools to support good mental health.

Participants will learn about promising practices and supports being applied across the public service to foster psychologically healthy and safe workplaces, in keeping with the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace and the Federal Public Service Mental Health Strategy.

This event is presented in partnership with the Centre of Expertise on Mental Health in the Workplace of the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, and Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s Canadian Innovation Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace.
